MTS to invest 2 bln rbl in connection infrastructure in Siberia
MOSCOW, Apr 21 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator MTS will invest 2 billion rubles until the end of 2018 in development of connection infrastructure of the Krasnoyarsk Region, in Siberia, the company said on Friday in a statement after signing a cooperation agreement with the regional government.
“The main part of investment will be allocated for construction of new 4G base stations, whose number will double. It will provide full coverage with the fourth generation network and access to the high-speed Internet in cities of the region,” MTS said.
The expansion of 4G network will redistribute load and increase throughput capacity in 2G and 3G networks, which will improve the quality of services.
MTS will also upgrade equipment, including existing 2G base stations.
